ONE-HANDED IRON CLOCK WITH ALARM,

Gothic, Winterthur, monogrammed UL (Ulrich and Andeas Liechti, died in 1627 and 1621) and dated 1597.
Wrought iron. Open movement with pillar design. Historically rebuilt movement with wheel balance and striking mechanism on bell. Outside fly. Alarm on bell. Dial, painted later. Bell mounting replaced. Hand, replaced.
14.5x15x37 cm.

The proportions and design of this wall clock, which is based on the clocks made by the ancestor Ulrich Liechti (deceased in 1545), are typical of the wall clocks made by the Liechti watchmaker family.
