COMMODE "A LA LELEU",

Louis XVI style, Paris ca. 1900.
Tulipwood and mahogany, in veneer and inlaid with reserves and fillets. Front with 2 sans-traverse drawers. Opulent gilt bronze mounts and sabots. Shaped, gray/white/beige speckled marble top. Lock removed.

A similar commode was sold at our September 2013 Auction (Lot No. 1327).

The commode that served as the model for the piece of furniture on offfer was manufactured by J.F. Leleu for Versailles and is depicted in: P. Kjellberg, Le mobilier français du XVIIIe siècle, Paris 1989; p. 510.
