LADY'S DESK,

Louis XV-style, with signature M.E. LHERMITE (Martin Etienne Lhermite, maître 1753), Guild stamp, Paris, 20th c.
Tulipwood and rosewood in veneer and inlaid "en papillon" and with fillets and decorative frieze. Front with 1 drawer, hinged writing top lined with gold-stamped red leather with 1 compartment on each side. Bronze mounts and sabots.
90x49x73 cm.

A very similar lady's desk was sold by Christie's Monte Carlo on 19 June 1999 (Lot No. 78) .
