Taken for Harper's Bazaar on 25 July 1961, only five weeks after Nureyev's defection from the Soviet Union. The present image, however, was not one of the published images of the photo shoot (cf. literature).
Slight oxidation mirroring in the margins, slightly scratched in the centre, also faintly stained in the centre, small retouched spots at upper left, slight pressure marks in the right margin and lower corner. Verso somewhat stained. Overall in good condition.
