This, for its time, exceptionally large Gentleman's wristwatch has an almost avant-garde case with Art Deco and Bauhaus influences. The dominant lugs for the leather band convey a strong design, while appearing to hold the powerful crystal glass.

The refined 2-tone dial presents different nuances, depending on the angle of view, and is a work of art in itself. The applied indices and Breguet numerals in gold, contrast beautifully with the base, and the double signature completes the picture.

The movement is also exceptional: The Cal. 12'''SC was only produced in small numbers from 1938-1950. It is based on the Patek Philippe Ebauche 12'''120 and was completed by Victorin Piguet with the device for an indirectly-driven central second hand. The elaborate design is reminiscent of chronographs with a horizontal clutch.

The 1599 model on offer is a sensational and important discovery for the world of wristwatch collections. It is also particularly impressive due to the excellent original preservation: the case shows no traces of polishing, all facets and surfaces are still well-preserved. Even the platinum mark on the case exterior is clearly visible. The attractive dial is also free of any cosmetic manipulations and in excellent condition. This impression is rounded off by the virtually untouched and high-quality movement.
