Fancy pendant designed as two, finely crafted pelicans, in between, on polychrome, translucent enamel, a scene depicting dawn over a pond with floating water lilies. A flower and the sun with diamond-cut roses set in silver. At the upper end, a triangle-cut diamond, on the lower end, a silver pendant with a drop-cut diamond. Unsigned, 6.3 x 5 cm. Mounted on a fine anchor chain with 2 decorative ornamental parts of fine ivy leaves. L 43 cm. Depicted in the exhibition catalogue, Art Nouveau Belgique, , Palais des Beaux-Arts, Bruxelles, 1980, page 442, figure 844. -an almost identical, signed piece of jewellery, Sotheby's New York 2004 lot 38, however, the end with pearls. 7 x 4.8 cm. - for comparative purposes: a similar, signed piece of jewellery with a pelican motif is depicted in the catalogue Europäischer Schmuck 1840-1940, Highlights Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim, Fritz Falk, 2004, page 67, no. 57.
