IMPORTANT BUREAU PLAT "AUX AIGLES",

Restauration. Attributable to F. BARDI (Ranieri Bardi, active in Florence between 1820 and 1855) , Tuscany ca. 1840/60.
Birch in veneer, shaped and finely carved with cowering eagles and decorative frieze, and painted gold in part. Rectangular leaf lined with gold-impressed, brown leather, edged in bronze. Front with 3 adjoining drawers. Same but sham arrangement on verso. Exquisite bronze mounts and applications, designed as cartouches, leaves and decorative frieze. With later owner's label of a Polish nobleman: "Robioneto Biuro 1895 roku MNL Rydrenskich Ola Hrabiegot. Krevty Miescie Kole - Wladystal".

DRINKING VESSEL WITH AUTOMATION,

so-called "Maiden's Cup", Renaissance, Augsburg or Nuremberg, 2nd half of the 16th century.
Matte and polished gilt bronze. Finely engraved beaker designed as a maiden in contemporary dress, with removable torso for opening the hollow space for the beverage, on 3 small wheels. Iron spring-driven movement with solid iron wheels and mechanism for automatic shut-off.

Louis XVI, the enamel cartouche signed RIDEL A PARIS (probably Laurent Ridel, active as of ca. 1770), the fine enamel painting probably by J. COTEAU (Joseph Coteau, Geneva 1740-1801 Paris), Paris ca. 1775/80.
Gilt bronze and brass and white marble and finely painted enamel. Enamel chapter ring. Fine skeleton movement with anchor escapement, striking the ½-hour on bell. Fine sun pendulum. Requires some servicing.
