LOT OF TWO WALKING STICKS
The grips are Japanese, Meiji period, late 19th century. Both grips are signed. The sticks are European, modern, 20th century.
1: Long ivory grip carved with a rat's nest, the eyes set with miniature black glass beads, the lower fifth smooth with an incised rat and signed Yoshihide. Silver band. Shaft in black lacquered wood. Horn tip.
2: Long ivory grip carved with a rat's nest, the eyes set with black miniature glass beads, basketwork and a hidden face, the lower fifth smooth and signed (not identified). Silver-plated metal band. Ebonized wooden shaft. Missing tip.
