England, 19th century.
1: Ivory grip fully carved in the shape of a grotesque Japanese head, with incised decoration in the shape of a May beetle on the calotte and a dragon at the back of the head. Grooved metal band. Black lacquered wood shaft. Metal tip.
2: Ivory grip fully carved in the shape of a child with a dog. Silver-plated copper band. Ebony shaft. Horn tip.
