PAINTED CLOCK WITH CARILLON AND DATE ON PLINTH
Louis XVI, Neuchâtel, ca. 1780.
Curved wooden case, the top with a vase, painted blue and with flower garlands, flowers, a bird and a hunting medallion. Bronze and brass fittings. White enamel dial. Movement with verge escapement and Grande Sonnerie on two bells and carillon with eleven bells. Strike repetition, the carillon with repetition on request.
46 × 18 × 108 cm.
Movement and striking mechanism as well as carillon needs to be cleaned/revised. Dial needs to be realigned. One side cover is missing. Case with losses and cracks.
