Dreher, Peter

* 26.8.1932 Mannheim, † 18.2.2020 Freiburg

Peter Dreher was born in Mannheim in 1932 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under Hubbuch, Schnarrenderer and Heckel. In 1965 he became head of the painting class at the Freiburg branch and was appointed professor in 1968. Exhibitions took Dreher to the USA, Belgium, Greece, England, Switzerland, and Austria, among other countries. Peter Dreher's works are to be found in the permanent collections of the Andy Hall Art Collection, Pinault Collection, Art Institute Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, the Staatliche Kunsthalle Mannheim, and the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main, among others. Peter Dreher died in Freiburg in 2020 at the age of 87.
