LACQUER COFFER, Louis XVI, probably Japan, 18th century Wood lacquered on all sides with "laque du Japon" in 2 gold tones and inlaid with mother of pearl: with idealised park landscape, birds, flowers and leaves on black ground. The front with double door, painted fitted interior with small central door, flanked by 2 drawers under 2 rows of drawers, bronze mounts and iron handle. Requires some restoration. 103x60x80 cm. Provenance: from a very important private collection, Switzerland.
