BUREAU MAZARIN WITH BOULLE-MARKETERIE,Louis XIV/Régence, attributed to N. SAGEOT (Nicolas Sageot, maitre 1706), Paris circa 1700. Red tortoiseshell with exceptionally fine brass inlay "à la Bérain"; with depictions of figures, putti, garlands, flowers, leaves and frieze. The top edged in brass frame, with a shaped frieze and scrolled legs joined by stretcher, a central drawer flanked by smaller drawers. Decorated with rich bronze and brass mounts. Freestanding. 147x79x80 cm. Provenance: - from a Paris collection. - Galerie Koller 23.10.1980 (Lot 1610). - Private collection, West Switzerland. A highly important and very rare Bureau Mazarin in good condition.
