TANKARD AND COVER. London, 1764/65.Maker's mark William Shaw. Completely embossed on a smooth, retracted round foot. Body with hunting scenes and a central cartouche in the upper half, lower half depicting the hunt and animals hunted, in an opulent arrangement of C-shaped curves and acanthus. Vaulted rocaille and acanthus cover with knob. Curved, solid handle with emblem-like plating. H 24.5 cm. 880 g.
