TANKARD AND COVER. London, 1764/65.Maker's mark William Shaw. Completely embossed on a smooth, retracted round foot. Body with hunting scenes and a central cartouche in the upper half, lower half depicting the hunt and animals hunted, in an opulent arrangement of C-shaped curves and acanthus. Vaulted rocaille and acanthus cover with knob. Curved, solid handle with emblem-like plating. H 24.5 cm. 880 g.

Allseitig getrieben auf glattem, eingezogenem Rundfuss. Korpus in der oberen Hälfte mit Jagdszenen und zentraler Kartusche, untere Hälfte mit Jagd und gejagten Tieren in üppigem Arrangement von C-Schwüngen und Akanhtus. Aufgewölbter Rocaille-Akanthus-Deckel mit Fuchsknauf. Geschwungener, massiver Henkel mit Wappenartigen Auflagen. H 24,5 cm. 880 g.
