FIGURE OF A BISHOP,probably Italy, 15th/16th century. Limewood carved full round and painted. H without later square plinth 74 cm. Paint rubbed, retouched in parts. Both hands later.

wohl Italien, 15./16. Jh.
Linde vollrund geschnitzt und gefasst. Der Bischof mit Bischofshut und in langen Falten fallendem Gewand. Die eine Hand zum segnenden Gruss erhoben, in der anderen trägt er ein offenes Buch. H ohne späteren Rechtecksockel 74 cm. Fassung berieben, teils übergangen. Beide Hände später.
