PAIR OF PUGS WITH YOUNG GILT BRONZE BASE, THE PORCELAIN MEISSEN, CIRCA 1745.The gilt bronze in Louis XV style. Underglaze blue sword mark on the back side of the female pug. The bronzes stamped 'C couronne'. H 25 cm and 22.5 cm. Very heavily repaired. One plinth cut out at the top.

Die vergoldeten Bronzen im Louis XV- Stil. Beide in sitzender Pose mit zur Seite gewendeten Köpfen, das Weibchen mit erhobener linker Pfote, sein Junges beim Säugen. Naturalistisch staffiert in Grau und Brauntönen. Unterglasurblaue Schwertermarke an der Rückseite der Möpsin. Die Bronzen gestempelt 'C couronné'. H 25 cm und 22,5 cm. Sehr stark repariert. Ein Sockel auf der Oberseite ausgeschnitten.

Provenance: - Palazzo Montagliani, property of the Grassi siblings "Luigi Pandolfini", 3 May 1954, Lot 136. - Salvatore and Francesco Romano collection, Florence.

Giuseppe Mazza (1653-1741) zugeschrieben, Italien, Bologna, frühes 18. Jh.

Terracotta. Die trauernde Maria ist umringt von Johannes und einem Engel, welche sie liebevoll zu trösten versuchen. Johannes hält ihre Hand, während der Engel sich zu ihr herunterneigt. Der Leichnam Christi ist an Mariens Knie gelehnt; sie hat ihre Linke auf seiner Schulter abgestützt. Magdalena kauert am Boden und beugt sich über den leblosen Körper. Es handelt sich hier um eine sehr ausdrucksstarke Gruppe, deren Figuren eine grosse Anteilnahme und Wärme ausstrahlen und so eine Darstellung schaffen, die eher von Traurigkeit und Sympathie als von Schmerz und Reue geprägt ist. 71x73 cm. Der rechte Flügel des Engels sowie der Zeigfinger an Christus' linker Hand geklebt. Auf Holzplatte montiert.

ENTHRONED BISHOP,France or Spain, 12th/13th century. Carved poplar wood, hollowed verso (previously closed), with remains of painting. The staff in left hand later. H 80 cm.

PAIR OF PUGS WITH YOUNG GILT BRONZE BASE, THE PORCELAIN MEISSEN, CIRCA 1745.The gilt bronze in Louis XV style. Underglaze blue sword mark on the back side of the female pug. The bronzes stamped 'C couronne'. H 25 cm and 22.5 cm. Very heavily repaired. One plinth cut out at the top.

RARE 'AUGUSTUS REX' VASE, MEISSEN, CIRCA 1725-30.Underglaze blue AR monogram. H 39 cm. Heavily repaired, hairline cracks.

NEPHRITE FOOTED DISH. Russia.Marked Michael Perchin and Faberge. Round base with laurel band made of silver. H 36.3 cm.

SMALL DRINKING BOWL. Russia circa 1890. Gold.Marked Faberge and with work master mark Erik Kollin. Incised inventory number 64270. The handle and bottom inserted with coin of Catherine the Great 1756. French import stamp, as well as Wartsky. D 9 cm. 45 g.

MARY IN GLORIOLE. Augsburg 1716.Maker's mark: Franz Anton Bettle (Betli), (born in Constance, master from 1715, died 1728). Wood base with pierced silver appliques. Gilt copper gloriole. H 82 cm.

HUNTING CUTLERY,Gothic, probably Germany, 15th century. Ivory and silver-gilt. Comprising 2 knives. The silver mount with crowned BS monogram. The iron blade with trefoil punch mark as well as same-shaped perforation. Leather scabbard. L 44 cm. One grip probably shortened in length.

CRUET SET Trompe-l'œil. St. Petersburg 1908/1917.Marked Alexander Benediktowitsch Ljubawin. 5 containers: oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and mustard. H 31.5 cm. 807 g.

SAINT FLORIAN,Gothic, South German, Franconia, circa 1480 (?) Limewood carved full round. Remains of paint. H 80 cm. Losses in the base area, both hands as well as parts of the feet replaced. The lance later.

SET OF 4 CANDLEHOLDERS, Augsburg circa 1730.Maker's mark: Johann Pepfenhauser (Pfeffenhauser) II. Chased, cast and embossed. H 21 cm. Total weight: 1,557 g.

MADONNA ENTHRONED,northern Italy, late 14th/early 15th century. Wood carved full round and painted. H 100 cm. The paint heavily retouched. Probably altered in the lower section.

SERPENTINE TANKARD. With gilt copper mount. Germany, 17th century.One loss to the stone. Green/gray speckled serpentine. H 18 cm.
