SECRETAIRE WITH UPPER SECTION,known as a "bureau a gradin", Baroque, Liege circa 1720. Walnut, burlwood, sycamore and local fruitwoods in veneer with fine inlays and partly ebonized. The "en arbalete" front with hinged top drawer - opening to writing compartment - above 2 drawers. The interior fitted with 6 drawers in 2 rows. The middle drawer hinged and usable as writing support. Recessed upper section with large door with marquetry decoration similar to writing surface, also on inside, flanked by four drawers. Narrow drawer at the top. Central locking. Bronze mounts. 108x62x(open 74)x190 cm.
