RARE APOTHECARY JUG FROM THE ROYAL APOTHECARY IN LUNEVILLE,Luneville, factory of Jacques II Chambrette, circa 1750. Painted on both sides with a cartouche of rocailles, leaves and flowers crowned by an escutcheon with bull's head, the heraldic animal of the Polish Leszcynski noble family, and inscribed 'S. de Chicorée' in black. No mark. H 25 cm (28 cm). Associated cover, hairline crack at the mouth, small chip at foot edge.
