A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF THE SECOND PANCHEN LAMA. Tibet, 18th c. Height 17 cm.

Feuervergoldete Bronze, die Hautpartien sind kaltvergoldet. Blo bzang ye shes dpal bzang po lebte von 1663-1737 und ist mit seinem schmalen Gesicht und den prominenten Ohren eindeutig zu identifizieren. Er sitzt auf einem quadratischen Meditationskissen und ist in ein faltenreiches mehrschichtiges Gewand gehüllt. Die Rechte ist in der Geste der Argumentation erhoben, während die Linke in dhyana-mudra im Schoss liegt.
