IMPORTANT CLOCK WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY and plinth, Regence, the case by A.C. BOULLE (Andre Charles Boulle, 1642-1732), the design drawing for the plinth by G.M. OPPENORDT (Gilles Marie Oppenordt, 1672-1742), the front and the movement signed THURET A PARIS (Jacques III Thuret, 1669-1738), circa 1720/25. Matte and polished gilt bronze and ebonized wood inlaid with brown tortoiseshell and brass. Relief-decorated gilt dial with engraved Arabic minutes and 13 enamel plaques, 12 with blue Roman hour numerals. 2 blued hands. The clock glass with enamel cartouche for the signature in blue. Fine movement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. Rich gilt mounts and applications. Some restoration required, enamel with fine hair-line cracks and small chips. Some losses in the marquetry. Restorations. 38x17x108 cm. Provenance: - Collection of Duc X., France. - Sotheby's Paris auction, 18.6.2002 (Lot No. 35). - From a European private collection. With expertise by J.D. Matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronze und ebonisiertes Holz, eingelegt mit braunem Schildpatt und Messing. Stark geschweiftes, teils durchbrochenes Uhrgehäuse mit Aufsatz in Form des auf Kissen sitzenden Jupiters und mit Volutenfüssen, auf grossem, eingezogenem Sockel mit Frauenportrait in Medaillon. Reliefiertes, vergoldetes Zifferblatt mit gravierten arabischen Minutenzahlen und 13 Emailplaketten, 12 mit blauen römischen Stundenzahlen. 2 gebläute Zeiger. Das Uhrglas mit Emailkartusche für die blaue Signatur. Feines Werk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Reiche vergoldete Beschläge und Applikationen in Form von Maskaron, Löwenköpfen, Rosetten, Voluten, Palmetten und Blättern. Etwas zu restaurieren, Email mit feinen Haarrissen und kleiner Bestossung, Fehlstellen in der Marketerie. Restaurationen. 38x17x108 cm.
