A CAMPHORWOOD CARVING OF A DAOIST FIGURE SEATED ON A DRAGON THRONE. China, 19th/20th c. Height 38 cm. Remnants of gilding, with red and green paint.

Kampferholz mit Resten von Vergoldung und roter und grüner Farbfassung. Die Gottheit in reich geschnitzten Roben sitzt auf einem Drachenthron, die linke Hand auf dem Knie ruhend, die rechte Hand zeigt eine Mudra. Auf dem Kopf sitzt eine flache rechteckige Kappe. Milder Gesichtsausdruck. Thron und Gewand mit aufgelegten Details, feinen Gravuren und Schnitzereien im Hochrelief.
