GHISI, GIORGIO MANTOVANO (1512 Mantua 1582).Herkules Viktorius über dem Haupt der Hydra. Circa 1558. Copper engraving after Givanni Battista Bertani. 34 x 20.4 cm. Bartsch 44; Lewis/Lewis 24. – Even and clear impression. Mostly trimmed to the image, sometimes trimmed into the image. Fully backed with laid paper. Several closed defects. Paper loss to the lower right corner. Traces of red chalk in parts; tiny brown spots and some wear. Despite these issues, still a good overall impression. Very rare.

Überwiegend bis zur Darstellung beschnitten, teils knapp innerhalb dieser. Ganzflächig mit Bütten alt hinterlegt. Mehrere geschlossene Läsuren. Die untere rechte Ecke mit Papierverlust. Stellenweise Spuren von Rötel. Wenige Braunflecken und Gebrauchsspuren. Trotz der genannten Mängel noch guter Gesamteindruck. - Sehr selten.
