A GILT COPPER FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI. Tibet, ca. 16 th c. Height 17 cm. Sealed.

Feuervergoldetes Kupfer, die Haare sind blau gefasst. Shakyamuni sitzt auf einem doppelreihigen Lotosthron und berührt mit der Rechten symbolisch die Erde. Die Linke hält einen Zipfel seines Gewandes und liegt in dhyanimudra auf den Fusssohlen. Das einfache Gewand, das kaum Falten wirft und das freundliche Gesicht verleihen der Figur eine schlichte friedliche Ausstrahlung. Verschlossen.
