A GILT COPPER FIGURE OF A HIGH RANKING LAMA. Southern Tibet, 14th c. Height 12.5 cm.

Feuervergoldetes Kupfer, die Augen sind in Silber eingelegt, am Kopf Reste von ritueller Bemalung. Der Mönch thront auf einem doppelten Lotosthron und hält eine Schädelschale und einen Stupa. Das mehrschichtige Mönchsgewand ist ganz mit gravierten Mustern überzogen.
