Verso of mats mostly with hand annotation, some stamped, some with mounted label, with printed or imprinted legend.

Provenance: Acquired from the trade several decades ago, thence Swiss private collection.

Mostly views of France (Paris, Strasbourg, Aix la Chapelle, Marseille), Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Dresden, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden), Spain (Malaga, Seville, Gibraltar), Italy (Rome, Venice, Pisa, Pompeii), Ireland (Dublin), Austria (Feldkirch, Salzburg), Portugal (Lisbon), Greece (Athens), Egypt, the rest of USA, Canada, Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) and Japan. With city views, sights (Notre-Dame, Brandenburg Gate, sphinx, pyramids, etc.), portraits and traditional costumes, scenes, studio shots, works of art, including also photographs of the 1867 Paris World's Fair.
