PAIR OF POCKET-SIZED PERCUSSION PISTOLS

Belgian, ca. 1850.
Removable round barrels (L 6.2 cm), Cal. 17 mm, box locks with retractable triggers and fine tendril engravings, Liège proof marks, Weapon No. 1753. Smooth ivory grips, small cracks, iron caps as grip ends. In a matching mahogany case with key, the interior lined with blue velvet. On the lid, small brass plaque with engraved owner's coat-of-arms and the motto "VIRTUS PERSEVER ANTIA". Contents: bullet tongs, ivory powder flask, ivory primer box.
Weapon length: 17.7 cm.
