Germany, ca. 1860/80.
Carved ivory. The walls depicting a battle on horseback in relief. The top features a figure of Mars on a gadrooned lid, the handle is designed as a soldier, with an animal head, the bottom ending in a dolphin. Mascaron feet.
H 47 cm.
