BRONZEPLAQUE "PIETA", Renaissance, in the style of MODERNO (Pseudonym of a goldsmith active in Italy end of 15th/beginning of 16th century), probably Venice circa 1600. Patinated bronze. Tabernacle-shaped frame with portrait of Ferdinand II , H 15.4 cm; W. 9.5 cm. Lit.: "Les Arts", August 1908, ill. II. E.F. Bange, Die italienischen Bronzen der Renaissance und des Baroque, Berlin 1922; p. 63.

Renaissance, in der Art des MODERNO (Pseudonym eines Goldschmiedes, tätig in Italien Ende 15., Anfang 16. Jh.), wohl Venedig um 1600.
Bronze patiniert. Tabernakelförmiger, mit Putti beschmückter Rahmen mit Portrait des Ferdinand II des Katholischen, darunter 2 Frauen, den toten Jesus beweinend. H 15,4 cm; B 9,5 cm.
