IMPORTANT CARTEL CLOCK "AUX AMOURS",Louis XV, from a Paris master workshop, probably von C. CRESSENT (Charles Cressent, maitre 1720), the dial signed GOURDAIN A PARIS (Nicolas Gourdain, maitre 1724), circa 1745/50. Matte and polished gilt bronze. The cartouche shaped case with figures of cupid, putti, peacock and dragon; the clock with enamel dial, a fine verge escapement and 1/2 hour striking on bell. H 88 cm. Provenance: from an American collection.
