EQUESTRIAN PORTRAIT OF LOUIS XIV,Louis XIV, after the model by G. DE GROFF (Gullielmus de Grof, Antwerp ca. 1680-1742 Munich ), Paris circa 1710. Gilt bronze and brown tortoiseshell with fine brass fillets inlaid in "contre-partie". King Louis XIV is depicted in fine armour on a tall plinth with corner masks and paw feet. 40x26x62 cm. Provenance: - Gismondi, Paris. - from a highly important European private collection.
