PEARL, EMERALD AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, HUGO SCHAPER, Berlin, ca. 1880. Yellow gold and platinum. Very fancy anchor necklace, the top set with 3 shield-shaped ornaments. The openwork middle part set with 1 European-cut diamond of ca. 2.70 ct, ca. N-O/VVS, surrounded by volute motifs and additionally decorated with 7 old European-cut diamonds weighing ca. 0.35 ct, the lateral ornaments each set with 1 emerald rectangle weighing ca. 2.70 ct, flanked by 2 diamonds weighing ca. 0.10 ct, in bell-shaped settings. The lower part: 1 pendant with 1 drop-shaped, probably natural pearl of ca. 11 x 8.5 mm and 5 smaller diamonds, mounted below 1 old European-cut diamond of ca. 0.30 ct. The removable centre part can also be worn as a brooch. Original case signed Hugo Schaper (1844-1915), Court Goldsmith of His Royal Majesty the Emperor and the King, Berlin W.9., Potsdamer-Str. 8. With Mechanical part for the centre part.
