PAIR OF FINE DECORATIVE VASES WITH GILT BRONZE MOUNTS
Louis XVI, Paris ca. 1780. Probably commissioned by Dominque Daguerre, the fine, chased and gilt bronzes probably by Thomire, the porcelain vases by the Locré Manufactory.
Decorated with tendrils and lozenges in gold, on a cobalt-blue ground. Amphora-shaped, with retracted neck, the lip featuring a bronze leaf frieze.
H 30.5 cm.
Gilding, somewhat rubbed. One porcelain foot, with repair.
