PENDULE "A L'ELEPHANT BLANC", Louis XV, the dial and movement signed BLONDEL A PARIS (Nicolas Blondel, maitre 1746), the bronzes probably by J.J. DE SAINT-GERMAIN (Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain, 1719 Paris 1791), the elephant Qianlong (1736-1797), Paris circa 1750/60. Matte and polished gilt bronze, also porcelain. The white elephant bearing the clock case and standing on a finely chased bronze plinth. Enamel dial, verge escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. 39x26x53 cm. A splendid, elegant and very rare clock.
