COMMODE "A FLEURS", Louis XV, stamped DF (Jean Desforges, maitre before 1730), Paris circa 1750. Tulipwood, rosewood, and partly dyed fruitwoods in veneer with exceptionally rich inlays on all sides. The front with 2 sans traverse drawers. Exceptionally fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and sabots, some replaced. Shaped "Breche d'Alep" top. Verso old owner's label with the inscription "une commode Louis XV marquetee". With veneer restorations. 130x65.5x84 cm. Provenance: - From a Paris collection. - Koller Zurich auction on 17.9.1997 (Lot No. 609). - Swiss private collection.
