MANTEL CLOCK "LE CHASSEUR AMERINDIEN", Directoire, the model probably by J.S. DEVERBERIE (Jean-Simon Deverberie, died 1824), Paris circa 1795/1800. Matte and polished gilt bronze and burnished bronze. With figure of hunter with bow and arrow and his catch. The clock with enamel dial and verge escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. Exceptionally fine bronze applications in the form of children playing. 30x11x51 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Belgium. Only three identical models are known: one is in the Duesberg collection in Mons, a further one in Musée du Nouveau Monde in La Rochelle, and the third in the collection of P. Izarn in Paris.
