DIAMOND AND SPINEL BROOCH , ca. 1910. Silver and yellow gold. Charming round, open-worked brooch, the border decorated with fine leaf motifs, the top with finely open-worked band motifs. The centre set with an iridescent blue/violet spinel of ca. 7.50 ct in a yellow gold mount and set throughout with 4 old European-cut diamonds weighing ca. 1.40 ct, and numerous old European-cut diamonds and some rose-cut diamonds weighing ca. 4.20 ct. Slightly restored. Mechanical part in yellow gold. French import marks. With contemporary case.
