TENIERS, ABRAHAM
before 1629 Antwerp 1670
Abraham Teniers was the younger brother of David Teniers (1610–1690), under whom he was probably also apprenticed. In 1645–46 he was accepted as a master in the Guild of St. Luke, where his brother David Teniers, who was almost two decades older, held the office of dean. Throughout his life, his brother' s works were the model for his own high-quality versions.
