K.P.M. (ROYAL PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY) TEAPOT WITH CHINOISERIE DECORATION

Meissen, ca. 1723-24.
Baluster-shaped teapot with a curved spout featuring a mascaron. Painted on both sides with a chinoiserie scene in a gold cartouche. In-between the cartouches, on the spout and handle, decorated with flowering branches and scattered insects. The domed lid with a gilt rim. K.P.M and sword mark in underglaze blue, gold numbers 56 and 96.
H 10.5 cm.


The lid is from a different set. Gilding slightly rubbed.
