LARGE TAPESTRY "CLORINDE DELIVRANT OLINDE ET SOPHRONIE",Louis XIV, from the atelier of S.F. DE LA PLANCHE (Sebastien Francois de la Planche, took over the atelier in 1661), attributed to designs by M. CORNEILLE (Michel I Corneille, circa 1603-1664), Paris circa 1680. In the center Clorinda riding on a stallion, a soldier to the right, and some onlookers. The stake on the left with Olindo, Sophronia and 3 people with straw bundles and logs. Fine border with animals, mythical creatures, figures, fruits, flowers and leaves. H 302 cm. W 485 cm.
