Provenienz: - Richard Redding Kunsthandel, Zürich bis 1987. - Privatbesitz Schweiz von obiger bei obigem erworben. Die Eigenhändigkeit dieses Gemäldes wurde durch das Instituto Matteucci bestätigt, wofür wir danken. Unsere Komposition greift der Künstler in einer reduzierteren Version auf, die möglicherweise als Vorlage diente. Diese befand sich einst in der Sammlung De Marinis (siehe: Casa di Vendita Righetti, Collezione De Marinis, Roma 1943, Nr. 117, Tafel XVII).
