Paris circa 1710. Signed BUTTERFIELD À PARIS (Butterfield Paris 1635-1724).
Brass. An octagonal plaque with compass case and 4 engraved hours, a hinged gnomon with hand in the form of a bird to read the altitude. Verso engraved with information on the altitude of various towns. In a case covered in dark leather.
6.8x5.8x1 cm.
