IMPORTANT SECRETAIRE "AUX FAISCEAUX ROMAINS",Empire/Louis XVIII, attributed to J.J. WERNER (Jean-Jacques Werner, Geneva 1791-1853 Paris), Paris circa 1815/20. Mahogany, amaranth, lemonwood and rosewood in veneer. Fall-front writing surface, lined with gold-stamped brown leather, between top drawer and compartment with double doors. The interior fitted with a large central compartment and drawers. Exceptionally fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications. White/gray speckled marble top. 100x43x(open 69)x147 cm.

Empire/Louis XVIII, J.J. WERNER (Jean-Jacques Werner, Genf 1791-1853 Paris) zuzuschreiben, Paris um 1815/20.
Mahagoni, Amarant, Zitronenholz und Palisander gefriest. Rechteckiger Korpus mit vorstehenden Eckstollen in Form von Liktorenbündeln auf eingezogener Sockelplatte. Abklappbare, innen mit braunem, goldgepresstem Leder bezogene Schreibplatte zwischen Kopfschublade und Fach mit Doppeltüre. Inneneinteilung mit grossem Zentralfach zwischen Kopfschublade und von je 2 Schubladen flankierte Zentralschubladen. Ausserordentlich feine, matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronzebeschläge und -applikationen in Form von römischen Büsten, Helmen, schreibender Historia-Figur, Äxten und Zierfries. Profilierte, weiss/grau gesprenkelte Marmorplatte. 100x43x(offen 69)x147 cm.
