SKELETON CLOCK WITH MOON PHASE AND CALENDAR,Louis XVI, the dial signed RIDEL A PARIS (probably Laurent Ridel, active from circa 1770), Paris circa 1785/90. Gilt bronze, white marble and painted enamel. The front with large enamel chapter ring with Arabic hours and minutes as well as Arabic month days; below, 2 smaller enamel rings with French month names and zodiac symbols, and with French weekdays and planetary symbols; surmounted by a finely painted moon phase window. Fine anchor escapement striking the ½ hours on bell. Sun pendulum. Gilt mounts and applications. 28.5x14x50 cm. Provenance: - R. Redding, Zurich. - Private collection, Germany.

Vergoldete Bronze, weisser Marmor und bemaltes Email. Die Front mit grossem Emailzifferring mit arabischen Stunden- und Minutenzahlen sowie arabischen Monatstagen und bemalt mit Bogendekor; darunter 2 kleinere Emailringe mit französischen Monatsnamen und Zodiac-Symbolen bzw. französischen Wochentagen und Planetensymbolen; darüber fein bemaltes Mondphasenfenster. Feines Ankerwerk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Auf bogenförmigen Stützen mit feinen Portraits in Rauten und Volutendekor. Auf rechteckigem Sockel mit Puttorelief und gequetschten Kugelfüssen. Prächtiges Sonnenpendel. Vergoldete Beschläge und Applikationen. 28,5x14x50 cm.
