IMPORTANT BUREAU PLAT "AUX AIGLES",

Restauration. Attributable to F. BARDI (Ranieri Bardi, active in Florence between 1820 and 1855) , Tuscany ca. 1840/60.
Birch in veneer, shaped and finely carved with cowering eagles and decorative frieze, and painted gold in part. Rectangular leaf lined with gold-impressed, brown leather, edged in bronze. Front with 3 adjoining drawers. Same but sham arrangement on verso. Exquisite bronze mounts and applications, designed as cartouches, leaves and decorative frieze. With later owner's label of a Polish nobleman: "Robioneto Biuro 1895 roku MNL Rydrenskich Ola Hrabiegot. Krevty Miescie Kole - Wladystal".
