A FIGURE OF BISHAMONTEN (GUARDIAN OF THE NORTH).

Japan, about 1700, height 30 cm (total).
Wood with polychrome paint and gold, metal wheel halo and trident, the eyes are inlaid. The back of the figure is inscribed and dated Genroku 13 (1700). Minor traces of age.


Provenance: Old private collection from Southern Germany.
