IMPORTANT SCEPTRE,Renaissance, probably Transylvania circa 1600 and later. Round shaft with wooden core and exceptionally fine, frieze-style depiction of the Battle of Szigetvar, as well as parcel gilt and enameled silver demons, mascarons and volutes. Ball-shaped head with enameled copper core, parcel gilt and enameled silver ornaments, set with precious and semi-precious stones such as rubies, emeralds, diamonds, turquoise and pearls, the silver top with Old Hungarian inscription "Den Maertyrern von Sigethvar 1566" and small female figure with Hungarian costume and child. L 64 cm. Provenance: from a private collection, Switzerland. Possibly the scepter offered here was made on behalf of the Austrian Emperor and King of Hungary as a gift to the family of Count Zrinski.

Renaissance, wohl Siebenbürgen um 1600 und später.
Runder Schaft mit Holzkern und ausserordentlich feiner, friesartiger Darstellung der Schlacht von Szigetvár sowie vollplastischen Dämonen, Maskaronen und Voluten aus teils vergoldetem bzw. emailliertem Silber. Der kugelförmige Kopf mit emailliertem Kupferkern und zum Teil vergoldeten bzw. emaillierten Silber-Ornamenten, besetzt mit Edel- und Schmucksteinen wie Rubinen, Smaragden, Diamanten, Türkisen und Perlen, der Silber-Deckel mit altungarischer Inschrift "Den Märtyrern von Sigethvar 1566" und kleiner Frauenfigur mit ungarischer Tracht und Kind. Am Schaftende abgeflachte Kugel mit ausserordentlich feinem Henkel, Fratzen und Fabelwesen. L 64 cm.
