SMALL "SECRÉTAIRE A ABATTANT",Louis XVI, stamped P. ROUSSEL (Pierre Roussel, maitre 1745), Paris circa 1770/80. Tulipwood, rosewood and partly dyed precious woods in veneer and richly inlaid on all sides with depictions of landscapes with ruins, furniture, "trophées d'armes", fillets and frieze. With fall-front writing surface lined inside with green leather and fitted interior with 6 drawers and 3 large compartments. With exceptionally fine matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications. The "Carrara" top set within bronze rail. 57x30x(open 68)x156 cm. Provenance: Château de Vincy, West Switzerland.
