VAJRADHARA.Mongolia, ca. 18th century H 19.5 cm. Gilt copper alloy. The coloured stones are painted. Plinth missing. The throne slightly indented verso.

Mongolei, ca. 18. Jh. H 19,5 cm.
Feuervergoldete Kupferlegierung. Die farbigen Schmucksteine sind aufgemalt. Mit Vajra und Gantha vor der Brust gekreuzt, sitzt die Gottheit auf einem schönen, doppelblättrigen Lotosthron. Der leicht geneigte Kopf verleiht ihr zusätzliche Anmut. Der Vajra steht für die alles durchdringende Leere (sunyata), die Glocke für die absolute Weisheit (prajna). Sockelplatte verloren. Thron rückseitig leicht eingedrückt.
