CUP AND SAUCER WITH ROCOCO HANDLE WITH LADY'S HEAD, Meissen, circa 1740. Painted with 'Deutsche Blumen', gold edges. Underglaze blue sword mark, impressed numeral 9. Provenance: - Private collection, Hamburg. - Private collection, South Germany. Exhibition: 'Meissener Porzellan des 18. Jahrhunderts aus Hamburger Privatbesitz', Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, June 4 - September 5, 1982. Illustration in catalog of the same title by Hermann Jedding, Hamburg 1982, p. 159, No. 151. The cup probably belongs to a service for which, according to the author, op cit, the coffee pot and teapot are located in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg.
