BUREAU PLAT "AUX MASCARONS", Regence, attributed to M. CRIAERD (Mathieu Criaerd, maitre 1738), Louis XV, Paris circa 1730/40. Ebonized wood finely inlaid with brass fillets. The rectangular top lined with gold-stamped red leather and edged in bronze. Front with narrow central drawer flanked by 2 drawers on each side. Same, but sham arrangement verso. Exceptionally fine, some replaced, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts, applications and sabots. Restorations. 164x75x80 cm. Provenance: from a highly important European private collection.
